An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages. The system is hierarchical or tree-like in structure and can contain a number of sub-forums, each of which may have several topics. Within a forum's topic, each new discussion started is called a thread, and can be replied to by as many people as you wish. Internet forums are great for creating a virtual community for your customers to chat and share their experiences. A forum system can be installed as a standalone product or integrated into a CMS (Content Management System).
A blog (derived from the term web log) is a discussion or informational site published on the Internet and consisting of posts typically displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appearing first). Blogs are a great choice if you make frequent updates to your site (such as new articles, general news or interesting photos with a caption). A blog system can be installed as a standalone product or integrated into a CMS (Content Management System).
